Hair Loss Heroes - Q&A

You Got Questions, We Got Answers

Hair Loss Heroes is not your typical women’s hair restoration clinic. We offer a multi faceted approach to hair regrowth for women with thinning hair. Women that are experiencing hair loss more than likely have a reason for their hair to be thinning. Hair loss is typically a first indication of health, nutrition, stress, vitamin deficiencies or hormonal issues. Hair Loss Heroes was created to focus on women’s health and then treat your hair loss. Below are answers to questions you might have.

At Hair Loss Heroes, our Naples hair restoration doctors started treating patients two decades ago with PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma). Through the years they have found modifications in the protocol that produced better hair growth. We found that one 6x concentrated PRP treatment yielded much better results than 6 separate weaker treatments. A combination of experience and a highly concentrated PRP resulted in an enhanced product of growth factors, stem cells and proteins called Protein Biologic Concentrate (PBC).

Both PBC and PRP are similar in the mechanics, the difference is in the details. Without giving away our trade secrets, here are a few differences:

  • It is very important that the cells in the PBC are alive and healthy, competitors end up killing some or all in the PRP processing, or in the prep of the patient’s scalp.
  • Our PBC is six times more concentrated with more platelets than in a typical PRP injection.
  • We have a growth additive to the PBC.
  • Processing times and treatment methods are enhanced based on years of experience.

Our medical staff are seasoned experts in all aspects of PBC processing and administration. For over 22 years, our core medical staff have been treating heart and lung patients with PBC. We discovered a need for women’s hair restoration and started researching the development of a branch of our medical practice. What first started as curiosity then turned into an obsession, offering women a customized  hair restoration plan that is focused on their health and hair restoration.

You might be surprised to hear…Yes. There is much written in medical journals and white papers regarding the success of PRP in treating Alopecia. If requested, we will be happy to offer you reference material and a one on one with a patient that has been successfully treated. Alopecia is a symptom of an autoimmune disease that can be unpredictable in developing new problem areas but we have been successful at treating Alopecia Areata.

Note that in June 2023 the FDA approved a drug to keep Alopecia Areata at bay. In combination with medication and hair restoration treatment we could be your answer.

We absolutely can use the labs if the labwork has been completed within 6 months of the evaluation. We can look at a biopsy test and basic labs. We still might want to run additional labs based on your health records and our doctor’s recommendation.

There is no effect on the treatment cost if diagnostics are provided.

Your hair restoration journey will start with an evaluation. We will evaluate your hair thinning and determine if you are a prime candidate for our treatment. Because we want the best outcome, we will determining whether this treatment is right for you. 90% of women will get positive results from PBC. We strive for results that outperform the national average because of this patient selection process.

Platelet Rich Plasma is very fragile and mistakes can be made easily in both the processing and the PBC injection process. There are literally hundreds of variable that can enhance or hinder the outcome in this revolutionary hair restoration procedure. Hair Loss Heroes are better than others because we are experts in PBC and have been mastering hair restoration since 2008. Our hair loss doctors are pioneers in developing and improving this hair restoration protocol.

If you have had PRP in the past, chances are pretty good that there was pain involved. With advancement in technology, we offer sedation. The average pain level we are hearing from our patients is between 1 – 3 out of 10. (We also have N2O for patients with sensitive scalps).

The treatment is most effective by processing extra concentrated platelets and to administer healthy cells without damaging the cells in the treatment. The more growth hormones the better the results. The more active and healthy platelets in the plasma the better the outcome. The Protein Biologic Concentrate is different from others and we stand by that fact. There is a proprietary protocol in the processing of the biologic and administering the injections.
