Heme Iron – Repairs Low Ferritin in the body
If the patient has a history of being anemic or on the lower end of the scale with Iron, chances are good that they have low iron. Ferritin is a funny thing. A patient’s Ferritin levels only get replenished when there is excess iron in the body. Think of Ferritin as the iron reserve tank for the body. Ferritin gets restored based on iron storage. So a person that has low to normal iron levels in their blood, does not mean the Ferritin is at a normal level. Chances are, the Ferritin might be depleted. The best way to build the body’s iron storage is to take a natural iron called Heme.
